New R.L. Stine Series JUST BEYOND Coming to Disney Plus Fall 2021

Goosebumps and Fear Street author R.L. Stine has an all-new original series in the works over at Disney Plus with writer Seth Grahame-Smith (Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) set to adapt Stine’s best-selling BOOM! Studios graphic novel series Just Beyond into an eight-episode horror/comedy anthology.
Grahame-Smith says: “I grew up watching Twilight Zone reruns and the original Amazing Stories with my parents. I’ve always wanted to make a genre anthology series that families could enjoy together, and do it in a way that delivered for kids and adults alike. R.L. Stine has been a part of millions of childhoods, and Disney+ has already proven itself as a place that knows how to make high-quality shows for the whole family. I couldn’t be more excited to be working with both.”
R.L. Stine adds: “Back in the day, we had a Goosebumps HorrorLand attraction at Walt Disney World. It was one of the thrills of my life. Now I’m thrilled to be back with Disney for the TV series based on my graphic novels. Writing Just Beyond for BOOM! Studios has been a joy from the beginning, and I’m so happy to have the wonderful screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith bring the series to life on Disney+. How lucky can I be?“
Seth Grahame-Smith is listed as the creator of this new horror-comedy anthology series and will serve as writer and executive producer alongside David Katzenberg, Stephen Christy, and Ross Richie. He will produce along with Katzenberg through their KatzSmith Productions banner. 20TH Century Fox Television is the studio. R.L. Stine is attached as co-executive producer.
Disney Plus aims to assemble a writer’s room soon with an expected release in the fall of 2021.
Disney broke the news: “We already have goosebumps. Just Beyond, a new Original Series based on the best-selling graphic novel series from RL Stine is coming fall 2021 to Disney Plus.”

RL Stine has been referred to as the “Stephen King of children’s literature” and is the author of hundreds of horror novels, including Fear Street, Goosebumps, Rotten School, Mostly Ghostly, and The Nightmare Room series. As of 2008, Stine’s books have sold over 400 million copies.
