AMERICAN HORROR STORY Could Go On For 20 Seasons

The new season of Ryan Murphy’s hit anthology series American Horror Story just aired its season finale earlier this week. And today Murphy spoke to Deadline about the future of the series.

Murphy says, “We’re working on an idea for season 10 that I think people will love because it’s about reuniting fan-favorite actors to come back — because it might be our last season.”

He adds, “It’s the last season we have contracted. So, I’ve been quietly reaching out to various people. Some people I haven’t reached out to yet because I was like ‘Do I have a role for them?’ So far, everybody, I reached out to said ‘Yes’, so it’s been great.”

He adds, “[FX] has always been incredibly honorable about American Horror Story and [they] would obviously like to keep it going, and I’d like to keep it going. We’re in the middle of negotiations about beyond season 10. We have had conversations about the show going 20 seasons.”

The last season was the 80’s slasher inspired AHS: 1984 which starred Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, Angelica Ross, Leslie Grossman, Matthew Morrison, Gus Kenworthy, Zach Villa, and John Carroll Lynch. It aired its final episode on Wednesday.

Personally, I found AHS: 1984 to be the best season the spotty series has sported in years. Hands down.
