Exclusive THE HEAD HUNTER Trailer Mixes Fantasy and Horror With Gruesome Effectiveness

Last year while attending Spain’s Sitges Film Festival, I saw an independent movie that at the time was called The Head. A masterful blend of fantasy and horror, I gushed about the film, saying it was, “…a testament to independent filmmaking” and “…overflowing with imagination and atmosphere.” Today, I’m thrilled to be able to bring the Dread Central audience the first trailer for the newly named The Head Hunter, which will be hitting theaters and On Demand on April 5 via Vertical Entertainment!

The trailer perfectly shows off the wonderful production value and the oppressively cold atmosphere. I know for many of us that we’re still in winter, so this will only serve as a reminder of the biting cold outside. Grab a blanket and enjoy the trailer for one of my favorite festival titles of last year, The Head Hunter!

On the outskirts of a kingdom, a quiet but fierce medieval warrior protects the realm from monsters and the occult. His gruesome collection of heads is missing only one – the monster that killed his daughter years ago. Driven by a thirst for revenge, he travels wild expanses on horseback, using sorcery to aid in his quest. When his second chance arrives, it’s in a way far more horrifying than he ever imagined. A heartbreaking fairytale with a black soul, the film is constructed with very few elements, minimalistic and epic at the same time, where fantasy and horror find their more physical and gory incarnations.

Written by Jordan Downey, who co-wrote the film with Kevin Stewart, The Head Hunter stars Christopher Rygh and Cora Kaufman. It was produced by Kevin Stewart, Jordan Downey, and Ricky Fosheim.
