In Mega Time Squad, petty crooks get more than what’s coming to them when they rob an antique store and inadvertently acquire a cured bracelet. It gives its wearer the ability to time travel, but there’s a catch: If you meet yourself while time traveling, a “demon” will emerge. What follows is a mix of doppelgänger horror and madcap hilarity.

Synopsis:
A low-level criminal steals an ancient
Chinese time-travel device, but he may not survive the demonic consequences of
tampering with time. Mega Time Squad is a wildly entertaining time travel/sci-fi
comedy out of New Zealand. A fan favorite on the festival circuit, the film
stars Jonny Brugh (What We Do In The
Shadows) and was praised by Variety as “fast-paced, determinedly
silly, with sharp slangy dialogue,” the film blasted out of the gate at this
year’s Fantasia and is destined to become a cult favorite.
Mega Time Squad is written and directed by Tim van Dammen; in addition to Brugh, the film stars Morgan Albrecht, Yoson An, and Jaya Beach-Robertson.
