Old BTS MAD MAX: THE ROAD WARRIOR Video Shows The Dangers of the Film’s Stunts

Stunt workers have a relatively thankless job. While many in the film community can, and will, sing their praises, award ceremonies seemingly go out of their way to deny them the recognition they deserve. It’s a sad reality that many are working to change so that those who put life and limb, literally, on the line can be noticed and appreciated formally.

There are many stories of how stunt workers get injured on set but there aren’t many times when we actually see the causes of those devastating incidents. However, an old behind-the-scenes video that was shot during the filming of George Miller’s 1981 post-apocalyptic action/adventure film Mad Max: The Road Warrior does precisely that.

In it, two specific stunts are shown being filmed and both end quite poorly for those involved. It’s a jarring set of visuals that show just dedicated these people are to creating a scene that has a genuine impact.

One can only hope that there will come a day when stunt workers get their well-deserved recognition. Until that day, we’ll keep sharing their stories and lifting up their voices.
