Carpenter Never Wanted HALLOWEEN Sequels

This coming weekend we will finally see the release of Blumhouse’s and director David Gordon Green’s direct sequel to John Carpenter’s Halloween.

We’ve already seen tons of sequels to Carpenter’s original film, but it turns out Carpenter never wanted any follow-ups to his Halloween.

Michael’s disappearance at the end of the first film makes you gasp,” Carpenter told NY Times. “And I wanted to leave the audience that way. I didn’t want any sequels. Boy, was I wrong, huh?

Synopsis:

On a cold Halloween night in 1963, six-year-old Michael Myers brutally murdered his 17-year-old sister, Judith. He was sentenced and locked away for 15 years. But on October 30, 1978, while being transferred for a court date, a 21-year-old Michael Myers steals a car and escapes Smith’s Grove. He returns to his quiet hometown of Haddonfield, Illinois, where he looks for his next victims.
