CHILD’S PLAY Remake Casts Andy’s Mom & Detective Norris

Recently we passed along the news that Polaroid director Lars Klevberg is going to be helming MGM’s upcoming remake/reboot of the classic killer doll franchise Child’s Play from the producers of Stephen King’s IT.

And today we have word via Collider that the roles of new Andy’s Mom (Catherine Hicks) and new Detevice Mike Norris (Chris Sarandon) have been cast… maybe.

Aubrey Plaza (Legion) and Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) are in negotiations to star through their roles remain unconfirmed at this time. Just like plot details which remain under wraps, but is rumored to be “a contemporary reboot involving a group of kids (ala Stranger Things), and a technologically-advanced doll that enters their world.”

The remake/reboot is directed by Lars Klevberg (Polaroid) from a screenplay written by Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury 2) produced by David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith (IT) via their KatzSmith Productions banner. Aaron Schmidt will serve as an executive producer.

Production is set to kick off in Vancouver this month.
