The Rogue vs Hybrid in Latest Violent Clip from THE PREDATOR

It’s a clash of titans in the latest clip from Shane Black’s The Predator, finally hitting US theaters nationwide next week. (I say “finally” as the film was postponed 3 times, originally slated for a 2017 release!). In the teaser at the bottom of the article, we see the sleek Yautja in black (dubbed the “Rogue”) facing off against a super-sized monstrosity (dubbed the “Upgraded” Predator). It poses an age-old question: Does size matter?

The Predator enjoyed its world premiere at TIFF earlier this week, where it bowed to mixed yet mostly positive reviews. A common thread among them is Black and co-scribe Fred Dekker’s approach to the material, utilizing elements of comedy that were less emphasized in past Predator installments. Below the new clip, you can check out the full trailer for The Predator.

Synopsis:
From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home. The universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and an evolutionary biologist can prevent the end of the human race.

The Predator’s sizable ensemble cast includes Thomas Jane, Jake Busey, Trevante Rhodes, Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, and Augusto Aguilera. Edward James Olmos participated in the production, but his character was completely axed in favor of a more concise runtime. Looks for it in theaters beginning this Friday, September 14th.
