HEREDITARY Director’s Next Film May Have Snagged Its Title

Ari Aster

It was just the other day that we let you guys know Hereditary writer-director Ari Aster has his next film in the works over at A24, which will be indie horror company’s largest production to date.

In that post, Aster’s new film was referred to as simply an “untitled horror film”, but today we have word via THR that the film tentative title is Midsommer.

A24 is currently in process of casting the film with Lars Knudsen and B Reel onboard to produce. The film is expected to begin production start of late summer/early fall 2018.

The plot is being kept under wraps though it follows a young woman, already dealing with the death of her parents, who joins her boyfriend and his friends on a trip to Sweden, specifically to a remote town with unique midsummer traditions. Things go south from there.
