Stranger Things 3 Adds Saw Star and One of the Buseys

Jake Busey

I don’t know about you but I enjoyed the second season of Netflix’s Stranger Things even more than the first. And it’s with this in mind that I’m quite literally counting down the days until I can feast my eyes on Stranger Things 3.

And speaking of the third season, today we have a casting update via Variety that lets us know that Cary Elwes (Saw, The Princess Bride) and Jake Busey (Starship Troopers, Identity) will be joining in on the retro fun.

Elwes will play a character named Mayor Kline, described by Netflix promotional materials as “handsome, slick, and sleazy. Your classic 80s politician — more concerned with his own image than with the people of the small town he governs.”

While Busey will play Bruce “a journalist for The Hawkins Post with questionable morals and a sick sense of humor.”

This sounds like solid casting to me on both counts, especially considering the Netflix original series is well-known at this point for casting loveable actors from the 80’s such as Sean Astin, Winona Ryder, Matthew Modine, and Paul Reiser.

What do you think of this casting? Are you excited for season 3? Make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

The release date of Stranger Things 3 has not yet been announced.
