Rest in Peace: Art Bell

It’s a truly sad day for the paranormal and talk radio world as the Nye County Sheriff’s office is reporting that legendary talk show host and radio personality Art Bell has passed on at the age of 72 years old. He died in his home in Pahrump, Nevada, with the cause of death as of yet unclear.

For decades Bell entertained fans and listeners in both frightening and compelling ways. He was the inspiration for generations of radio personalities, including myself with Brainwaves: Horror and Paranormal Talk Radio. Art was a true gentleman and the embodiment of the phrase “one of a kind.” Whether you loved him or hated him, the one thing that is undeniable is his impact on the industry as a whole.

Bell also appeared in several films throughout his storied career, including 2007’s I Know Who Killed Me, Hostage to the Devil, and various TV shows including “Millennium,” and “Dark Skies.” For me personally Art was a colleague and an acquaintance. I, like many, will miss the hell out of him.

Thank you, sir, for all that you’ve given, all that you provided, and all the future generations that have yet to discover your incredible body of work.

My world is spinning around. Everything is lost that I found. People run, come ride with me. Let’s find another place that’s free.
