The First Purge Trailer Defies Human Nature

We’ve seen The Purge, descended into Anarchy, and even came out in droves for Election Year. Now it’s time to wind back the clock, bask in our patriotic glory, and learn all about The First Purge.
Universal, Blumhouse, and Platinum Dunes have released a trailer for the fourth film in the franchise, which acts as a prequel to all three previous entries. In it, we not only see how the experimental program began but meet the creator of the “purge” herself.
“To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community. But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.”
Directed by Gerard McMurray and produced by Jason Blum, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, and Sébastien K. Lemercier, The First Purge stars Y’Lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Luna Lauren Velez and Marisa Tomei.
