Yor’s world! He’s the man! Yor’s world! He’s the man!
And now that man and his world are coming to Blu-ray for the first time ever early next year when Mill Creek gifts mankind with a 35th anniversary Blu-ray of Yor, The Hunter from the Future.
If there was ever a sentence I never thought I would write, it would include the words “Yor” and “Blu-ray.” Yet, here I am writing just that.
For those unfamiliar with the 1982 schlock masterpiece that is Yor, The Hunter from the Future, let me assure you this motion picture has everything you could want from a trashtacular early Eighties Italian-Turksh Conan meet Star Wars knock-off.

- Cannibals!
- Spaceships!
- Laser guns!
- Magic amulets!
- Darth Vader look-a-like robot henchmen!
- Caveman using a pterodactyl as a hanglider!

Synopsis:
It is before the dawn of time. Strange, savage beasts roam the earth, foraging for human flesh. Fierce tribesmen prey on the weak and innocent. Mystic sacrifices appease the gods. Yor (Reb Brown, Space Mutiny) is the mightiest warrior of his era. But his own past and true identity are shrouded in the mists of time. He knows he doesn’t belong in this world, but his only clues to the fleeting memories of his past are the gold medallion around his neck and the beautiful priestess held prisoner in a forbidden city. Armed to the teeth, Yor sets off on a quest, ready to blast away all manner of terrifying creatures along the way.
Mill Creek will release what they are hyping as a 35th Anniversary Blu-ray edition of Yor, The Hunter from the Future on January 16th of next year. Alas, this will simply be the American theatrical release and not the original two-part made-for-Italian-TV miniseries from which the movie was cut down.
On the plus side, Mill Creek actually roped Yor himself, Reb Brown, into providing a new commentary for the release.
And, because this is a Mill Creek release, you can bet it will probably retail for under $10, a most fitting price point for a Blu-ray of a movie in which this happens:
