San Diego Comic-Con 2011: Todd McFarlane to Make Several Cameos at the Show

It just wouldn’t be Comic-Con without the iconic cartoonist, writer, toy designer, and entrepreneur we know and love as Todd McFarlane stopping by; and today we got word on all the panels, signings and free giveaways he will be taking part in at the show.

It turns out the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con just isn’t the same without Todd McFarlane! For one day only, Thursday, July 21, Todd will be meeting & greeting with fans, signing swag, and talking about his latest projects! Whether you are a comic fanatic, gaming junkie, an action figure connoisseur, or an international rock ‘n roller, you will find Todd’s name tied to all the coolest names and products at this year’s con.
So grab your signature books, SDCC badge, and authentic movie costumes, as we look at where you can catch a glimpse of McFarlane this year:
Toys “R” Us Halo: Reach Figure Launch Signing: Todd McFarlane
Thursday, July 21, 10-11:30AM, Entertainment Earth booth #2343
Toys “R” Us is excited to announce that they will be previewing the Halo: Anniversary Master Chief Platinum action figure from McFarlane Toys at the SDCC, weeks before the line hits store in August! So make sure to pick up your platinum-painted version of John-117, because Toys “R” Us and Entertainment Earth will be hosting an autograph session with Todd McFarlane Thursday morning from 10 to 11:30 am at the Entertainment Earth booth #2343. The event is limited to 150 people. Two autographs per person, limited to the SDCC exclusive figure and one additional item.
Fans not attending the show can still purchase the figure online at Toysrus.com starting Sunday, July 24.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning “Bringing Worlds to Life, From Concept to Pixel” Panel: McFarlane, Tim Coman, Reckoning video game designers, Thursday, July 21, 12-1PM, Room 25ABC
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning—one of the most nominated video games at the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3)—is brought to life through the trademark visceral style of creative art director and concept artist Todd McFarlane. Listen as Todd, Big Huge Games art director Tim Coman, and a panel of Reckoning designers discuss the artistic process of creating a massive fantasy epic role-playing videogame in “Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning: Bringing Worlds to Life, From Concept to Pixel,” from 12 to 1 PM in Room 25ABC.
Blood Red Dragon Comic Panel: McFarlane, Stan Lee, Yoshiki, and Jon Goff

Working with the legendary creator Stan Lee and rock superstar Yoshiki (X Japan), Todd and his creative cohorts Jon Goff (writer) and Carlo Soriano (pencils/concept art) have created the ultimate hero from the east in Blood Red Dragon. Come listen to these creative minds as they talk about combining the worlds of music and comics in this awesome new project. This captivating panel and Q&A session is from 1 to 2 PM in the Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront.
