Alcatraz Curse Ready to Break Out

Curse of Alcatraz ready to breakAlcatraz – an island prison in the San Francisco Bay. Up until its closure in 1962, it was the most feared prison in the country, home of many of the worst American criminals such as infamous crime boss Al Capone. Today Alcatraz is a tourist attraction and the source for many a legend, some that are even true. So why shouldn’t Alcatraz also carry a curse?

Daniel Zirilli, a former music video and commercial director who started up the Pop Art Film Factory in order to add the world of direct-to-video movies to his resume, such as last year’s pirate slasher flick Crossbones (review), is the man behind the camera for the upcoming horror film Curse of Alcatraz. The horror tale deals with a forensic expert along with a college professor and some of his students that make the mistake of venturing into the long abandoned Alcatraz prison in order to study a recently discovered mummified body. Things take a turn for the worse when they unwittingly uncover a blood borne illness that begins to take them over one-by-one. I’m guessing that blood borne illness is the titular curse of Alcatraz.

Curse of Alcatraz stars “Survivor: Africa” beauty Jessie Camacho and Alex A. Quinn, son of the late Anthony Quinn.

The movie was even filmed in part on location at Alcatraz itself.

Considering that online information regarding Curse of Alcatraz is hard to come by despite the film filming much earlier this year, I can only guess that we shouldn’t expect Curse of Alcatraz to be ready until sometime this winter, most likely next year. Keep an eye out for it.
