Well, this is unexpected. Six years after its original release in 2011, Rockstar Games have announced that their murder mystery adventure L.A. Noire will be heading to PS4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch, making it the first Rockstar game to release on a Nintendo system since Bully back in 2008. A brand new VR version was also announced.

The Switch version will feature the entire game and all its DLC, in addition to Switch specific adjustments including motion control features. The Xbox One and PS4 versions will also include all DLC and will feature superior visuals and lighting effects from the original release. The VR version, on the other hand, will not include the full game, but will instead contain seven individual cases, all of which have been rebuilt in VR.

Originally made for a budget of $50 million, L.A. Noire was developed by the Australian-based Team Bondi and tells the story of LAPD detective Cole Phelps as he hunts serial killers and investigates a multitude of other gruesome and horrendous and crimes across the City of Angels. The facial capture technology used was considered groundbreaking at the time, and still looks pretty damn impressive today.

All new versions of L.A. Noire will release on November 14.
