FrightFest 2017: First Image from Exhume Is a Serious Pain in the Back

Coming to FrightFest 2017 is Scotty Poiley’s Exhume, a film that is based on true events. The story follows a couple who exhume bodies under a school only to encounter strange, possibly supernatural occurrences. The film screened at last year’s AFM.

Below is a still from the film that shows a body with a seriously mangled back. Having worked out last night and feeling a sore back today, I empathize ever so slightly with the image. That being said, I’m glad I have my skin!

Directed by Scott Poiley (Last Shift, Cassadaga), Exhume stars William Haze, Alice Rietveld, Sarah Sculco, Tony Senzamici, and Matthew Nardozzi.

Synopsis:
Patrick Connor and his wife, Karen, are hired by the state of Florida to exhume bodies resting under a closed down reform school. But the probationary facility had an infamous past and was known for the sadistic torture and murder of young boys in the early 1900s. Some of the case histories are so horrifying they just can’t stay buried, and the excavation is met with unnatural forces causing the Connor family to question their own sanity and will to live.
