While chatting with writer/director Jason Eisener after the South by Southwest premiere of his insanely amazing flick Hobo With a Shotgun, Dread Central had the opportunity to chat with the indie filmmaker about what’s next on his plate.

While Eisener said he has put together a treatment for a Hobo With a Shotgun spin-off centered around the destructive duo in the film known as “The Plague,” that won’t be his next feature film project even though he does hope to make the spin-off in the future.

“The next project I’m working on is a martial arts film that we plan on shooting in Canada. In terms of tone, it’s definitely going to be stylistically in the vein of Hobo with hints of movies like Class of 1984 meets The Wanderers mixed in there, too. We should begin working on that soon,” said Eisener.

Based on my experiences watching Hobo with a Shotgun tonight, I’m definitely ready to see how much ass Eisener is going to kick when he tackles a martial arts film.

Look for more from Eisener at South by Southwest next week!
