Good news for those of you who have been looking forward to Jeremy Kasten’s upcoming remake of Wizard of Gore (set visit here): Media 8 Entertainment has announced its acquisition of the worldwide rights to the redux as well as the recent Tribeca crowd-pleaser Mulberry Street (pictured, read Nomad’s thoughts on it here), according to Shock Till You Drop and Media 8’s official site.

Media 8 will be showcasing both films at Cannes in the hopes of securing distribution for them, which should hopefully come quick and easy for them. Gore, you may recall, is an updated take on H. G. Lewis’ infamous splatterfest, in which Crispin Glover stars as the titular magician who kills women every night on stage as part of his act but has a lot to answer for when women really start turning up dead with the same kind of wounds.

Mulberry Street takes place on a hot, sweaty day in NYC, where a virus outbreak causes the denizens of the famous New York street to devolve into ravenous, bloodthirsty rodent creatures.

Keep it here for more info on both movies as Cannes creeps closer!
