Giant Hellraiser Puzzle Box Coming to New York City in 2020

The Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center is planned to be opened at the World Trade Center Complex in 2020, and horror fans might find that the proof of concept model of it looks somewhat familiar.

So yeah, architect Joshua Prince-Ramus is probably a hardcore Hellraiser fan (I just hope he hasn’t seen Revelations). In an AP interview posted by Time, he said that the design of the building is based on a “mystery box,” but thanks to the tons of horror fans on the web, it’s not so mysterious anymore. He clearly has more respect for the series than the Weinsteins ever did.

Made out of translucent, veined marble and glass, during the day the building will have a dull sheen. But at night the three-level building will illuminate like a paper lantern.
