Snyder Makes New Army

Zack Snyder to make new zombie film!Zack Snyder (pictured) burst on the horror scene with one of the ballsiest moves in horror history; remaking George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. And it worked for him because he did a badass job with the redux and created a movie that, while not a direct tribute to the master’s film, was still one of the coolest zombie movies to come out in a long time. Then he went on to make the incredibly popular 300 and I’m sure most fans thought that he was gone from our genre for good, using horror as a mere stepping stone.

Wrong.

Variety announced today that Snyder is working with Warner Bros. again to bring a new zombie film called Army of the Dead to the big screen. Army is about a father trying to save his daughter in a quarantined Las Vegas when she is lost in the zombie-infested world outside of Sin City’s walls. Snyder wrote the film and will produce with his wife Deborah through their newly launched shingle, Cruel & Unusual Films. Love that name!

No word on whether or not Snyder will direct, since he’s on to Watchmen next (HELL yes), but he will be one of the ones making sure it gets done right, which he told Variety will be on a stylized, epic quality similar to 300. Can you fucking imagine that? Gives me chills.
