This past summer filmmaker Kendal Sinn first unveiled the details of his Shadow Falls Memorial feature film, and today he provided Dread Central with an update and a first look at the flick’s red-band trailer. Read on for more!

Shadow Falls Memorial is ready for its next round of screenings, and the picture is locked. After premiering to a standing ovation at the Fright Night Film Festival in Louisville, KY, director Kendal Sinn is ready to expand his feature film across the world. As Sinn says, “It’s getting close to Halloween, so it seems like a good time to unleash this thing!

Based on the acclaimed web series “Shadow Falls”, the film concludes a story Sinn has been working on for over 10 years. As you may recall, the “Shadow Falls” series aired on various websites from 2004 to 2007 and was released on DVD by Elite Entertainment in January of 2007. “I wanted to take the story and characters out with a bang. So there is nothing left on the table. We wrapped up the story and threw everything at it in something that I hope will not only satisfy fans of the series but also make new fans.

The Shadow Falls Memorial feature will next screen at the Kansas City Creepfest Film Festival on October 30th, 2009, as the closing night film. Here’s a brief synopsis:

An event happened 27 years ago in the halls of Shadow Falls Memorial Hospital so horrific that it changed the town forever. Only one person escaped, and her whereabouts are unknown. Now one man is the key to undoing the wrongs of the past and charged with bringing back the fabled River Child. In this shocking feature film conclusion to the acclaimed web series, the stories of past and future collide, and the secrets of Shadow Falls are finally revealed in a haunting climax that will stay with viewers for a lifetime.

Starring:

Niarba Sirrah – “Billy Pilgrim”
Allen Lowman (Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula) – “The Phantom Stranger”
Val Smith – “Alicia Stephons”
Criag Boyd (Air) – “William”
Tom Davis (The Empty Acre) – “Alan Stephons”
Natalie Nicole (Wild Hogs) – “Mischief Pixie”
Jennifer Plas (The Empty Acre) – “Kitty Stephons”
Darrell Weston – “The Man From Lod”

Leading up to the screening, look for special treats (or tricks) on the Shadow Falls Memorial website as follows: Starting October 21st, the website will air one episode a day from the original series. These are the first cuts of these films before any other companies became involved and have never been seen by audiences. Each daily episode comes with director’s notes, “Pay Attention” moments, and trivia. The site will be updated daily with new facts, fun, and surprises, and Sinn says to look for something REALLY special on the site October 28th.

This series was made for fans of horror and sci-fi, and I want them to get the most out of the feature. Although the series is not required viewing for the feature, it will make it a lot more fun! You will be able to see that we had an endgame from the very beginning, and there are so many hidden things in the series that you won’t even catch until you see the feature. Hopefully this is the kind of movie that fans will watch over and over. Even if I only have two diehard fans, I want those to be the happiest fans in the world, so I am going to do whatever is in my power to make this movie special for them!

The Signature Edition DVD will be released in late November with plans being set for a DVD and Blu-ray boxset with all the original episodes and the feature. When asked about the potential of a franchise, Sinn said, “There has been interest in a direct to DVD franchise, but in my mind, Shadow Falls is dead. Long live Shadow Falls!
