Dan Myrick and Ed SanchezThere have been some rumblings across the World Wide Web as of late with regard to a possible sequel to The Blair Witch Project, which just recently celebrated its ten-year anniversary. In order to find out exactly what’s true and what’s rumor, we contacted Dan Myrick to get the lowdown.

According to Dan, “Ed [Sanchez, his co-director on the original] and I are brainstorming a sequel idea, but that’s as far as we’ve gone.

Which pretty much fits in with what Sanchez recently told the BCC News: “Ideally, each Blair Witch film would be a completely different kind of movie. We’ve thought about doing a film that takes place in the late 1700s and looks like a [Stanley] Kubrick movie with gritty looking people and lighting.

But now, we’re thinking about going back and and seeing what happened directly after the first film finished. I think it will have some kind of video element in it, but it won’t be a first person hand-held movie.

What do you guys think of the sequel idea? It won’t be easy to re-capture lightning in a bottle like the first time, but we’re all for them trying!
