Rachelle Lefevre Reacts to Being Bumped from Eclipse

Rachelle Lefevre Speaks OutIn an interesting follow-up to the news that Bryce Dallas Howard would be taking on the role of Victoria in the upcoming third installment of the Twilight saga, Eclipse, we’re now hearing from the original actress who portrayed the vamp on a vendetta, Rachelle Lefevre, and she is apparently none too happy about the swap.

Forget Team Edward vs. Team Jacob. Now it’s all about Team Rachelle vs. Team Bryce. Yahoo reports that Lefevre, who is “stunned” and “hurt deeply”, was unaware that Summit Entertainment, which is releasing the vampire saga, had chosen someone else to play her part in Eclipse. She says her involvement in the drama Barney’s Version, starring Paul Giamatti and Dustin Hoffman [Summit’s excuse for the re-casting], would only last 10 days.

“I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules,” she said in a lengthy statement. “Although the production schedule for Eclipse is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those 10 days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for Eclipse, never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10-day overlap.”

Things are definitely getting nice and juicy in Twilight land. There’s been no response from Summit yet, but as we learn more, so will you. In the meantime, feel free to weigh in with your comments below.
