Indie anthology Edges of Darkness, which tells three tales set against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse, is edging closer to a US release with Anchor Bay, according to co-director and co-writer Jason Horton. And it could come as early as September 22nd.

Here are a synopsis of the three stories and a trailer from Shoreline Entertainment:

A vampire couple, Stan and Stellie, struggle to find food. Stan kidnaps a young girl, Natalie, in the hopes of feeding off her a little at a time in order to survive. Natalie turns out to be not what she seems and soon turns the tables on her vampire captors.

Dean is so obsessed with his writing that he ignores everything around him, from the zombies to his lonely wife. He installs a mysterious new processor into his computer that allows it to run without electricity. Instead, it now runs off the life force of others.

Heather is a survivalist. She comes across a young mother, and her son. Heather saves them from a zombie attack and takes them into her home. She soon learns that they are on the run not only from zombies, but also from a group of renegade priests hell bent on destroying the boy.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Horton also filled in Dread Central with some preliminary info on his latest project, Trap (official site here), which stars one of the primary players from Edges of Darkness, Alonzo F. Jones, along with Alan Perada and Ashton Blanchard. The film is about a brutal abduction that gets even worse when the middle-aged kidnapper falls in love with his teen-aged victim.

A teaser trailer follows; keep it here for more on both Edges of Darkness and Trap as it comes.
