Starting to pencil in your schedule for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con? Make sure you keep a spot open on Friday, July 24, so that you can get a look at long-awaited The Box from director Richard Kelly.

The news comes courtesy of Kelly’s MySpace Blog, which is where he’s been keeping us in the loop on all the latest happenings with the film. Here’s what he had to say about the SDCC:

Hello everyone,

Wanted to share some news on THE BOX.

Many have asked us if we will be at Comic-Con . . . I am happy to tell you first that the answer is YES. Our panel is Friday, July 24 as part of the Warner Bros. presentation. Cameron and James will be joining me, we look forward to sharing a First Look at the trailer plus other cool stuff.

More news on THE BOX and other DARKO projects soon.

The Box tells the story of Norma and Arthur Lewis, a suburban couple with a young child who receive an anonymous gift bearing fatal and irrevocable consequences. A simple wooden box, it promises to deliver its owner $1 million with the press of a button. However, pressing this button will simultaneously cause the death of another human being somewhere in the world…someone they don’t know.

Wait … did he say “other Darko projects”? Now THAT’s interesting!
