The Death of April Hits Home Video This October

Writer/director Ruben Rodriguez’s The Death of April recently received a bit of love from Dread Central, so we’re pretty happy to announce that the supernatural horror flick has scored a proper date for its home video release. What’s more, the movie should hit retail shelves this October, which means it’ll arrive just in time for Halloween. That’s always a good selling point.

Unfamiliar with The Death of April? Check out the following synopsis.

Nineteen-year-old college sophomore Meagan Mullen moves into a townhouse and keeps in touch with her friends and family through a video blog. As her entries (and her life) become more complex, dark, and emotional, unexplained paranormal occurrences begin to happen in her room; and the camera captures it all. Told primarily from the point of view of an ordinary wireless webcam, The Death of April documents the unsettling activity in an otherwise average girl’s bedroom – and the mysteries that surround it.

Now that The Death of April is heading to home video, Rodriguez has turned his attention to other projects. The filmmaker is currently working on Shut In, which tells the story of an agoraphobic woman who must face the outside world when she begins receiving strange texts and messages.

While you’re waiting for The Death of April’s October 27 release date, feel free to feast your eyes on the trailer and poster casually hanging out in the space down below.
