Just a few days ago we got word about a new week-long run of horror and punk films called "8 Films To Kill For: Halo-ween Fest".

As if the month of October weren't crowded enough what with all the various cons, film fests, parties, and of course our high holy day, Halloween, itself, word recently came down about an upcoming week-long run of horror and punk films called "8 Films To Kill For: Halo-ween Fest."

Those guys running Fantastic Fest down in Austin, TX sure are nice to their fans and know what they need to do to get more. That’s why they’ve announced a partnership with AMD and Bside to provide those who can’t make it to Fantastic Fest a chance to see some great films from the comfort of their own home!

Ah, I hate you Austin, TX. Yes, the entire damn city; deal with it. Why, you may ask? Because not only is it the hippest place on Earth, it’s also home to Fantastic Fest, which just announced its second wave of titles and there's some damn good stuff on here.

It was a strange experience arriving totally alone at the Fantasia HQ in the early afternoon of July 3rd to pick up the press pass this year. Just me, Paul McCannibal, and some tumbleweeds blowing through the city centre of Montreal.

Someday, when I’m finally as rich as I deserve to be, I won’t have to make these decisions about what to focus my energy on during the month of July. This year it was a toss up between San Diego Comic Con and Fantasia and, sadly, it looks like Comic Con’s winning.
