Just when I began losing my recently acquired Canadian accent from watching every single episode of "Trailer Park Boys" (and both movies), FEARnet has gone and brought more madness for us to enjoy from up North!
No doubt many people will go camping this Memorial Day Weekend; however, horror fans know better. Bad shit happens in the woods. The Blair Witch Project taught us just about all we need to know on the subject, and FEARnet will be airing the film and its "extras" exclusively and commercial-free on its linear channel during a Memorial Day marathon in the safety of your own home.
Anyone who is familiar with the history of Dread Central going way back knows that we have a lot of experience dealing with the launch of a horror themed channel. Bottom line? It's friggin' rough. That's why we respect the accomplishments of FEARnet so very much. Strap in, folks! There's tons of good news coming!
It's a pretty sweet deal that Mick Garris has with FEARnet, being able to chat with some of the preeminent directors in the horror genre on his "Post Mortem" web series, and his next guest is no exception. How about a sneak peek at Garris' interview with the one and only William Friedkin?
Last October FEARnet HD launched on Verizon FiOS (Channel 197), and as of now they remain the sole outlet for the fledgling network's high definition horror, thriller, and suspense films. But you can help expand its reach.
Beginning next Monday FEARnet's "Post Mortem with Mick Garris" will feature an in-depth interview with the master of horror himself, John Carpenter, and to help whet your appetite, we have an exclusive sneak peek of Carpenter discussing his distrust for authority, why he’s cynical, and a mention of his family "situation".

For the 12 Days of Christmas, FEARnet is running a set of 12 one-minute animated videos called Fear Academy, and they've given Dread Central an exclusive early look at the episode entitled "When the Lights Go Out". The short cartoons demonstrate the lessons we all know and love about horror films: the virgin lives, don’t drink, clowns and dolls = death, and never say "I’ll be back."
