Scream Factory and IFC Midnight will unleash first-time writer-director Natalie Erika James’ Australian fright flick Relic with Emily Mortimer, Robyn Nevin, and Bella Heathcote on Blu-ray and DVD on November 17.

James directs from a screenplay she co-wrote with Christian White. It begins when Edna, the elderly and widowed matriarch of the family, goes missing, her daughter Kay and granddaughter Sam travel to their remote family home to find her. Soon after her return, they start to discover a sinister presence haunting the house and taking control of Edna.
Rated R for some horror violence/disturbing images, and language, the film sports a 92% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Relic ratchets up its slowly building tension in an expertly crafted atmosphere of dread, adding up to an outstanding feature debut for director/co-writer Natalie Erika James.
