There are few horror icons who are instantly recognizable. Karloff, Lugosi, Price, Cushing, Lee ... but there are even less who are women. Arguably the most recognizable of these is the luscious Elvira - Mistress of the Dark and her creator, Cassandra Peterson.

Election Day is over, and while some are celebrating and others are licking their wounds, here's a new video from the one and only Elvira that's sure to bring a smile to your face no matter which side you're on.

Here at Dread Central we generally try to remain neutral in the political arena; however, sometimes things cross our desk that we absolutely must share with our readers. Elvira's recent spoof of the Christine O'Donnell witch controversy is one of those things. Here's a message straight from Elvira herself: "Hello darlings,

Let's toast Elvira for several reasons: for proving that age is only a number and showing that sexiness isn't restricted to twentysomethings, for making me realize at a very young age that I was not a homosexual (not that there's anything wrong with that) and for keeping the age old tradition of the horror host alive and well.

Now this is what we call an update! Gris Grimley is currently working on so many projects it's hard to keep track of them all, but today he provided us with info on three of them, including a new trailer for his short film Wounded Embark of the Lovesick Mind and, even more exciting, his feature film Pinocchio, which is being produced by Guillermo Del Toro and The Jim Henson Company.

Elvira is one of the horror genre's most instantly recognizable faces. Of course she has a couple of other parts that are equally as recognizable, but that, dear reader, is a completely different story. In any event everyone's favorite television ghoulfriend is coming back to the *ahem* boob toob.

It's been a while since Gris Grimly updated us on the status of his collaboration with Ghoultown and the lovely Cassandra Peterson (aka Elvira) on the song "Mistress of the Dark", but today we got word that a limited edition CD/DVD is now available. And if you order a copy before October 25th, Grimly, aka the Mad Creator, will try his darnedest to get it to you by Halloween!

A couple of months ago we showed you some early stills from Joshua Grannell's debut feature All About Evil, and today he sent over the film's first teaser poster.

It's been a while since we got an update on what our favorite Mad Creator, aka Gris Grimly, has been up to lately.

I may have only been eight years old when Elvira, Mistress of the Dark arrived at the local cinema, but that movie forever changed me. From that point on I knew I would grow up to lust after black-haired women with large breasts. The American Dream right there!
