Just in time for its twenty-fifth anniversary, Sony Pictures is planning a stellar re-release of one of the most beloved films everywhere, Ghostbusters, and we've got a look at what you can expect!

This past Halloween saw the release of a tweener horror movie so damned determined to scare the crap out its audience even the simple sound generated by mail being slipped through the slot of the front door was transformed into a loud crashing noise designed to startle viewers out of their seats.

And the Friday news keeps on coming! There's no doubt about it; 2009 is shaping up to be Jason's year! Paramount Home Entertainment in association with King Media have tapped one of the creative minds behind the much anticipated documentary His Name Was Jason (expect a full review soon), Dan Farrands, has begun work on the special features for Friday 4, 5, and 6. His first order of business? Commentary tracks, and you may be a little surprised as to who was the first to show up!

The official site for Amusement, the long-delayed anthology from Warner Bros, has finally opened its doors to the public, offering up new images and more information for the film which is skipping its planned theatrical release and going straight to DVD on January 20th.

Any fan of Fulci who’s gone past his zombie/hell films has probably heard of A Cat in the Brain, the 1990 experiment in which Fulci stars as himself in a twisted tale of a filmmaker driven by his creations. It’s never been available in any decent format here in the U.S. but come March 31st, 2009, Grindhouse Releasing plans to change all that.

Though they may take a very, very long time to get the films out there, you really can’t deny that it’s more than worth the wait for anything Synapse Films does these days. Their years-in-the-making DVD of Home Sick is the latest example, and recently president Don May, Jr. talked about two more upcoming releases that I’m sure will prove my point.
