Having been sick most of the past two weeks I've been behind on the news. For example, one of the most sought after made-for-television rarities from the 1970's is now available on DVD for the first time ever. I'm talking about The Bermuda Depths. And that's not the only new genre gem the Warner Archives Collection is now making available for order.

Variety reported tonight that Katie Holmes has signed on for the Miramax film Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark which was penned by Guillermo Del Toro and Matthew Robbins.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark Remake Shooting in May
Anyone who has ever seen the stellar slice of TV horror from back in the day known as Don't be Afraid of the Dark knows what a scary flick it was. Those little cone-headed bastards haunted my nightmares forever! As with all good horror flicks lately a remake is never far away. Lucky for us this one is in really good hands.

Elizalde Joins Don't Be Afraid of the Dark Redux
During one of Fangoria Radio’s recent shows, it was revealed that Mike Elizalde will be re-teaming with Hellboy II helmer Guillermo del Toro to work on the effects for the del Toro-produced remake of Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.

Del Toro & Miramax Produce Don't Be Afraid Redux
Guillermo del Toro is being true to his word and mentoring another young filmmaker into his first feature, this time teaming with Miramax on a remake of the 1973 classic Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark. THR reports that the film will serve as comic book writer/artist Troy Nixey’s directorial debut. Surely a dream come true.
