Dollhouse
Chicago fans, we're just about a month away from the start of 2011's Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2), and the guest list has expanded to include Eliza Dushku along with three "True Blood" regulars: Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte), Kristin Bauer (Pam De Beaufort), and Brit Morgan (Debbie Pelt).
This week's roundup of DVD releases include fan favorites from TV, a scarred comic book antihero, the next installment of The Lost Boys, the requisite creature features, a Roger Corman set, and SyFy's apocalyptic view of the world.

Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse" series got a bit jerked around during its run on Fox TV, but its Season Two DVD/Blu-ray release is getting the royal treatment with fans who order from FoxConnect.com and use a special code getting free shipping, a 10% discount, and a copy of the limited edition San Diego Comic-Con lithograph.
Joss Whedon has done so much more than just work in the TV and film industry. He's created entire meticulous universes for his characters and fans to explore, and that's no easy task. Thankfully the man is about to get his due.
In what should come as no surprise to anyone who's been following the show's rocky road since Day One, Fox TV has canceled Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse". But at least they're letting it run its course and will air all 13 of this season's episodes, enabling Whedon to give it a proper send-off.
Joss Whedon is a busy man - impressive to me since I'd written him off as a one trick pony after the Buffy comic all but ended my enthusiasm for the series.
If you're a fan of Fox TV's "Dollhouse" series, we have some good news and some bad news. Let's start with the good: The premiere episode of Season 2 is being written and directed by Joss Whedon himself. The bad? You're going to have to wait one more week to get your dose of Dushku as Fox has pushed back the series' return to September 25th.
One thing I'll never completely understand is TV programming and why some shows make it when others that are just as worthy, if not more so, don't. Case in point: Fox TV's "Dollhouse" and "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."
Those who have been watching "Dollhouse" on Fox claim it has finally hit its stride after a somewhat rocky start, and the show's upward trending ratings seem to bear that out. So one has to wonder why, then, Fox has decided to cut its season short by declining to air Episode #13, "Epitaph One".
Never let it be said we don't look out for you guys. Though it's been delayed and relegated to the Friday night wasteland, finally on February 13th we'll have a chance to see if Joss Whedon still has what it takes to make a successful show when "Dollhouse" makes its long-awaited debut on
Fox TV.
Still need a good reason to brave February in New York? Well, if the fact that Dread Central will have its very own booth at New York Comic Con (#1161) isn’t enough, how about an appearance by “Buffy”, “Firefly” and now “Dollhouse” creator Joss Whedon?
We told you a few weeks ago about Joss Whedon's plan to
film a new pilot for his upcoming TV show "Dollhouse" and then air the old one as the second episode, which seemed a bit strange in and of itself.
In a very strange twist of events, Joss Whedon has decided that his newest show for Fox, “Dollhouse”, will air out of sequence. Fans of the man’s work may recall this was one of the many contributing factors to the quick death of “Firefly”, only this time it’s not because of studio interference.
Our man “Hunter” just gave us another heads up, this time pointing us to
Wired Magazine’s blog, which landed itself the first cast pic from Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse”.
