Forget bus benches and billboards. The buzz behind District 9 just got a helluva lot louder with the announcement that Peter Jackson, one of the producers, will be making his first ever San Diego Comic-Con appearance in support of the film, which Sony is releasing August 14th.
It looks like Sony, distributor of the new alien invasion flick District 9, took a page out of HBO's "True Blood" marketing book and came up with a truly clever ad campaign for the film. Along with placing posters inside comic books stores, they're decorating bus benches and shelters as well as billboards.
It's hard to believe that summer is almost upon us. It seems like just yesterday we were ringing in the new year in a drunken stupor down in TJ with a band of traveling luchadors. Either way, summer = movies, and one of the flicks we're most looking forward to is Neill Blomkamp's alien epic District 9, which just so happens to have gotten itself a brand new poster!
