Detention

In school and throughout my teenage years, I was an absolute and total lunatic. Not kidding either. I super-glued my Spanish teacher to her chair, punched my principal in the face, threw a computer through a closed glass window, etc. You name it. I did it. Though if detention would have been as bad as it is in the movie of the same name, I may have thought twice!

Undoubtedly, one of the most polarizing genre movies of the South by Southwest Film Festival was writer/director Joseph Kahn’s Detention. It’s definitely one of those ‘love it or hate it’ flicks that is filled with flashy images, pop culture references, and quick edits that you’d come to expect from a legendary music video director like Kahn.

Even though it's only been about eight months since production started, music video director Joseph Kahn will have his latest feature film, Detention, ready to cause a stir at the 2011 SXSW festival in Austin, Texas (March 11th-19th). The film will be joining the previously announced The Innkeepers and The Divide.

It's been a while since last we spoke of Joseph Kahn's latest horror comedy, Detention, but the man's obviously been busy, and as you'll see from the following image, he's been spending his time well.

Six(!) more actors have joined the already announced Dane Cook and Josh Hutcherson in the latest horror comedy, Detention, and we have all the scoopage that you need to make your time spent after hours at school productive.

When I think funny, one of the names that end up last on my list is Dane Cook. I don't know what it is about the guy, but his antics just do nothing for me. So here's hoping he'll do better in the horror comedy arena.

Another celebrated music video director is making the jump into the feature film arena, and his first jumping off point? Why a low budget horror movie of course!
