New Line’s EVIL DEAD RISE Adds a Trio of Young Actors

The latest chapter of the Evil Dead franchise, Evil Dead Rise has added some new blood. New Line has announced that Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, and Nell Fisher will join Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland in the Bruce Campbell-less sequel. The new movie is being filmed for, and will hit, HBO Max hopefully in 2022.

Who exactly they’re playing is still up in the air. Evil Dead Rise is the new, urban-set entry in the Evil Dead canon. Gone are the days of the backwoods cabin. This new entry will have two sisters (Sutherland and Sullivan) fighting the deadites we all know and love in a city setting.

For doubters who may think this is too far a departure from Evil Dead, fear not. The original dynamic duo, Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are back as executive producers. We needed to pull the horror out of the woods anyway. A modernization feels in order.

Davies is an Aussie export that previously gained recognition for his portrayal of a trans boy in the TV series The End. Fisher is new on the scene, and will have her first feature in the form of post-apocalyptic action film Northspur. Echols will make her feature debut in Warner Bros’ sci-fi movie Reminiscence.

Irish director Lee Cronin has been hand picked by Raimi and Campbell to continue the Evil Dead legacy.
