Fresh off their 2022 film She Came From The Woods, which our Tyler Doupé described as a “better, smart version of Friday the 13th“, brothers Erik and Carson Bloomquist are back with their slasher Founders Day. Directed by Erik and co-written by Erik and Carson, the two are delivering a blood-soaked political horror film where at least a few heads are guaranteed to roll.

A small town is shaken by a series of ominous killings in the days leading up to a heated mayoral election. As accusations fly and the threat of a masked killer darkens every street corner, the residents must race to uncover the truth before fear consumes the town.

Dread Central’s Tyler Doupé saw Founders Day as part of this year’s Popcorn Frights Film Festival and gave it a 3.5-star review. Devin Druid, Emilia McCarthy, Amy Hargreaves, Catherine Curtin, Naomi Grace, Olivia Nikkanen, Jayce Bartok, Andrew Stewart Jones, and Tyler James White star in Founders Day.
Founders Day comes exclusively to theaters on January 19, 2024.
