It's that time of the year for Spooky Empire's Screamfest in Orlando, Florida! Kicking off on October 17th, Screamfest will be bringing us the Freak Show Film Festival, vendors galore, a pool party and Hellraiser and Dawn of the Dead reunions! All of this is taking place at the glorious Wyndham hotel with rooms available for as little as $99 a night!
Well folks, the 2008 ZombieFest (official site) has just announced their first round of guests, and it's a good announcement. The first round includes original Dawn of the Dead zombies Sharon Ceccatti Hill (the Nurse Zombie) and Clayton Hill (the Sweater Zombie). Also onhand will be Sam Nicotero, whose films include Children of the Living Dead and The Mothman Prophecies.
Some exciting news just sprang up, hot on the heels of learning that Dawn of the Dead would be screening at Monroeville Mall next month.
BD announced today that George A. Romero's zombie opus Dawn of the Dead will be screened at the iconic mall where the flick was shot!
If you haven't heard already, Xbox Live is currently working on original video content that will be available for download via the 360. While many TV shows and movies are currently out there, this new branch of direct downloading is a little bit more exciting. Why? Because James Gunn is involved!
It's been a long time coming. It's something I expected to happen a while ago, but Capcom's zombie epic has finally caught the attention of the MKR group (those that own the copyright to Romero's Dead films) and New Line Cinema, and they appear to be very close to taking legal action.

Presented by the dashing gents at Pit of Horror, those other guys behind Fear Fest, the screening tonight will feature the 1978 version of Dawn of the Dead! Doors open at 9 and the show starts at 9:30. You’ll even get a free DVD with paid admission!
