This is a huge week for West Coast fans of Joel Schumacher’s classic flick The Lost Boys as Corey Feldman (known to fans all over the world as Edgar Frog) is readying his classic rock inspired band Truth Movement for an unprecedented entertainment experience - "The Lost Boys Ball" - featuring the iconic 1987 film being presented to fans while Feldman’s band plays.

In 1987 the horror genre was dominated by the slasher fad of that decade. Zombies were mostly something seen only in Italian gorefests with the name Fulci attached. Ghosts and supernatural films were few and far between. Vampires ... well, vampires had been neutered and reduced to whiny flouncy boys by the likes of Anne Rice.

First we got an alert from Ticketmaster that tickets to see Corey Feldman perform live were going on sale soon but not many other details. Then came a press release that Corey and his band, Truth Movement, were announcing the "Lost Boys Ball", a four-city House of Blues tour.

Anyone who has ever had to tango with a bite-happy denizen of the undead can easily confirm one thing ... killing vampires is serious business. And while our Frog Brothers will be doing their best keeping the bloodsuckers at bay on Blu-ray and DVD on October 12th from Warner Bros., they're going to need a hand. That's where YOU come in!

There's really no reason to assume that Lost Boys: The Thirst will be any good. Not after the debacle of The Tribe, anyway. But I was sold by the trailer that promises the return of the Frog Brothers, and if it can deliver on its promise of the further adventures of these vampire hunters, well, I'll be a satisfied customer.

While making the press rounds during the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con, Dread Central had the opportunity to catch up with two of the genre's most beloved vampire killers: Edgar and Allan Frog, otherwise known as Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander. Feldman and Newlander were in San Diego to support their newest Lost Boys film, The Thirst, and sat down with Dread Central to discuss what fans can expect from this latest installment.

I suppose I'm plagued with an eternal naïveté that makes me excited for films like Lost Boys: The Thirst. Like everyone else, I thought The Tribe was filth, but there's something about the third film's trailer that makes me think they got it right this time.

Even Corey Feldman admits it ... Lost Boys 2: The Tribe sucked, but not in the way that everyone was hoping for. With the third one on the way Feldman spoke candidly about the sequel and why this time he thinks they have it right!

In case you've been wondering how watered down the vampires of Lost Boys 3: The Thirst might be given the popularity of Twilight and its ilk, recent comments by Tanit Phoenix, one of the film's co-stars, should put your fears to rest.

The Lost Boys is a huge favorite amongst the horror fanbase. Lost Boys 2? Not so much. Okay, so it sucked. Big time. With a third one coming at us soon, all we can do is hope for the best, and the trailer for it has just debuted. Let us know what you think below.

At the very least Lost Boys 3: The Thirst couldn't possibly be worse than Lost Boys 2: The Tribe was, could it? We still have nightmares about the more wooden than a stake performance phoned in by The Sutherland in that one. The synopsis for upcoming DTV sequel Lost Boys 3: The Thirst mentions Gwen Lieber, a wealthy vampire-romance novelist who hires Edgar Frog to rescue her son, and today we learned who would be playing said novelist: South African model and actress Tanit Phoenix.

Episode 3 of the Roger Corman/Joe Dante/Corey Feldman collaboration known as Splatter is hitting Netflix -- appropriately enough -- today, Friday the 13th. Bring your hockey masks and a mop!
