Trailer: New College-Set Slasher INITIATION Arrives May 7th

There’s a new masked slasher stalking co-eds on campus! Look for Initiation in theaters and also on VOD beginning May 7th via Saban Films! Check out the trailer and also read more about the movie below.

Synopsis:
During a university’s pledge week, the carefree partying turns deadly serious when a star athlete is found impaled in his dorm. The murder ignites a spree of sinister social-media messages, sweeping the students and police into a race against time to uncover the truth behind the school’s dark secrets…and the horrifying meaning of a recurring symbol: a single exclamation mark.

John Berardo directed Initiation from an original screenplay he also co-wrote along with Brian Frager and Lindsay LaVanchy. His short film Dembanger inspired this. Berardo wanted to expand his short movie into a full-length film after he saw the awesome screen share fright flick Unfriended.

The film stars Jon Huertas, Isabella Gomez, Lindsay LaVanchy, Froy Gutierrez, Gattlin Griffith, Patrick R. Walker, James Berardo, Bart Johnson, Shireen Lai, Kent Faulcon, Yancy Butler, Lochlyn Munro, and Maxwell Hamilton.

The film’s producers originally set the movie to premiere at SXSW on March 13, 2020, under the name Dembanger. But the COVID-19 pandemic shut the festival down as we all know. So Initiation had its US premiere over at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival back on October 8, 2020. And its off-shore premiere at the 2020 Sitges Film Festival.

Berardo also produced Initiation with J.P. Castel, Brian Frager, Jon Huertas, Lindsay LaVanchy, and Stephanie Stanziano. Once again for the cheap seats. Saban Films will unleash the new slasher flick in theaters and on VOD beginning on May 7th.
