The Film Society of Lincoln Center is hosting a Brazilian horror festival entitled "DEATH DEALER: Introducing Coffin Joe, Brazil’s Horror Superstar" and has joined forces with Dread Central to provide two lucky winners with a pair of tickets each to the January 23rd screenings of At Midnight I’ll Take Your Soul, This Night I’ll Possess Your Corpse, and Awakening of the Beast.
This is the first news story of 2010 that I'm excited about! The third film in José Mojica Marins' Coffin Joe trilogy, The Embodiment of Evil, is coming home next year!

This morning one of the ghouls over at Anchor Bay UK dropped the goods news in our laps that they’ve acquired the latest Coffin Joe film, Embodiment of Evil, for DVD release in Great Britain!
Way back in August, when one could still go outside without extra layers, we told you guys about a cool little project that, while not directly related to Coffin Joe, was close enough for comfort, an animated short called “Undertaker”.

Ladies and gentlemen, could we finally be looking down the barrel of the first Coffin Joe movie done entirely in English? Production house One Eyed Films is hoping so, as they've added a project on their official site called Santo Amaro: The Bitter Garden
Heaven and Coffin Joe do not mix. But if there is a heaven for Coffin Joe fans, I just experienced it.
I was privileged to attend the premiere of Encarnação do Demônio (The Embodiment of Evil), August 5 in São Paulo, Brazil.
Those of you with cable (a number I blissfully don’t count myself among) will have a lot to look forward to from IFC in the coming months. An article in Variety today reports that London-based One-Eyed Films has just sold a nine-picture package to IFC containing all the Coffin Joe movies!
