Hey, indie horror fans in the San Diego area, Santa's showing up a little bit early this year - December 18th to be precise. That's when writer/director Joshua Hull's zombie comedy Beverly Lane will be making its West Coast premiere as part of Horrible Imaginings' Ghoul's Yule.
Since its completion, writer/director Joshua Hull's zombie comedy Beverly Lane has been taking the indie horror world by storm; not only did it recently win "Best Horror Film" at the GIF Festival, but it was also nominated for five Golden Cob Awards earlier in 2011, with Hull being named "Best Emerging Filmmaker" as well. Hull recently announced his plans to self-distribute Beverly Lane, and with the flick's impending bow on October 25th, Dread Central caught up with him to get a few words on the DVD home release.
Here’s a little secret about me: I love action figures. In fact, I’ve always wanted to get myself immortalized in action figure form. And while I wait to get that dream fulfilled, Dread Central recently learned of some really fun new action figures that are making their debut this October for the indie horror comedy Beverly Lane.
Charles Band's evil clown flick Killjoy came out in 2000. A sequel followed in 2002. I was under the impression that these films were not exactly warmly received, certainly not enough to warrant a third installment eight years later.
First-time filmmaker Joshua Hull doesn’t have a flashy Hollywood story about how he got into writing and directing films. In fact, his ten-year journey to getting his first feature made all began because of some pretty big life changes that would generally knock any normal person flat on his or her proverbial butt.
A few months back Dread Central introduced you to one of our indie filmmakers to watch - Joshua Hull, who had just completed his first feature, Beverly Lane. Now Hull is about to unleash Beverly Lane on audiences in the Midwest, and we’ve got the details right here, including an exclusive look at the brand new one-sheet for the film.

A few weeks back we reported on Beverly Lane, the upcoming film from indie filmmaker Joshua Hull currently lensing in Indiana. Since we love you fans so much and want to support indie horror whenever we can, Dread Central is giving you an exclusive look at the first stills from the set.
First time writer/director Joshua Hull definitely did one thing right in prepping his new horror comedy Beverly Lane: He hired Michael Bukowski to do the artwork for the film's eventual DVD release.

Every once in a while a note comes across our desks about a new horror film that for whatever reason we haven't heard about until just before its release. One such project is Howie Askins' Devil Girl, which is being described as a throwback to 70's grindhouse horror.
You may recall that a few months back we did a story about Tim Sullivan (2001 Maniacs, Driftwood) making first mention of a new film he was working on called Clowns (" Sullivan Talks Clowns, Blood” – December 2007).
Tim Sullivan’s getting ready to get back behind the camera for 2001 Maniacs; Beverly Hellbillys very soon, but that’s not all the director has up his sleeve as he revealed in a recent interview with Windy City Times.
