A demon sorceress and her vampires ... heroes ... villains. Plus gore, blood, and naked damsels. A typical weekend in DC's offices? Maybe, but it's also what we were promised by Albert Pyun as filming of his Sword and the Sorcerer follow-up, Tales of an Ancient Empire, progressed. Last we heard of the production, they were "almost at the stretch run" and awaiting Christopher Lambert's arrival to shoot the finishing shots.

A few days ago we got our first look at Tales of an Ancient Empire, and now we have not only a slew of new stills from the first couple of days of shooting, but also a peek at not just one or two, but three teaser posters for the film.

It's gone through a couple of cast modifications and a change in filming locations since we first heard about it back in April '08, but Tales of an Ancient Empire, Albert Pyun's follow-up to The Sword and the Sorcerer, is finally under way.

We've been staying in close contact with director Albert Pyun with regard to updates on his new project, Tales of an Ancient Empire ("Pyun Ready to Film Again in Argentina" – April 2008); and as promised in our previous story, Albert just dropped us a line with some additional casting news.

Legendary - and extremely eclectic - director Albert Pyun dropped us a line last night to let us know that on May 5th he'll start shooting Tales of an Ancient Empire, his long-awaited follow-up to the movie he's best known for: The Sword and the Sorcerer.
