Last week we brought you up-to-speed on Spiders 3D, a new giant spider flick from the director of The Gate. I contacted the film’s star, Christa Campbell, for a few quick words about her role as a giant spider fighter.

The lovely Miss Campbell, who can currently be seen very naked in three voluptuous dimensions in Drive Angry 3D and on DVD next month as a seductive were-hyena prowling for Costas Mandylor in Hyenas, had this to say about her role in the eight-legged, three-dimensional, creepy crawler creature feature:

“I play Rachel, a mom who is going through a divorce with her husband, Jason, when the world is taken over by spiders. We have to fight, kill, and save the world. This brings our family back together.”

Husband Jason is portrayed by Patrick Muldoon. When jokingly asked if she got any tips on fighting giant bugs from the ex-Starship Trooper, Christa said, “Yes! Run! Run fast!! We had a lot of fun making this film. There is tons of action.”

She described the spiders in the film as “huge!”, which begged the question as to whether she personally is on the arachnophobic side. ”I hate spiders!! Thankfully, all our spiders are CGI,” she replied.

Campbell concluded by promising Spiders 3D will be “an action packed sci-fi flick with tons of explosions, fight scenes, and a great story. There is something for everyone!”

Everyone, that is, except for Johnny Yong Bosch. Contrary to IMDB, both Christa Campbell and screenwriter Joseph Farruggia have assured me that the former “Power Ranger” is not in the film and have no idea how his name came to be listed as a cast member. Now that is odd.

Thanks to Miss Campbell for her time, and be on the lookout for Spiders 3D, which I guarantee we’ll be telling you more about in the near future.
