Charles Band
It was just a month ago that Charles Band introduced plans for a tenth Puppet Master movie to be called Puppet Master Forever. That title has since transformed into Puppet Master X: Axis Rising, and today we’re getting our first glimpse at the newest member of the Puppet Master family: Blitzkrieg.
Filming in Los Angeles right now (despite the 100-mile-per-hour winds) is the latest fear flick from Full Moon pictures lovingly titled The Dead Want Women, and we've got the first images of star Eric Roberts like you've never seen him before. Dig it!
Starring Erica Rhodes, Olivia Alexander, Chelsea Edmundson, Ariana Madix, Lauren Furs
Directed by Charles Band
I’ve always had two theories about Bad Channels: Either Charles Band hoped it would become Full Moon's very own Rocky Horror, or he did a ton of blow and believed a sci-fi comedy horror musical about an alien with a head like space cauliflower hijacking a radio station as an excuse to have some sexy gals dance to schlocky music was genius.
Hollywood just doesn’t make enough movies about horny alien eyeballs that shoot lasers and stalk nubile young women in search of prime breeding stock. That’s why the world needs filmmakers like Charles Band and movies like Killer Eye: Haunted Halloween.
Charles Band, the man behind the prolific B-movie machine Full Moon Entertainment (which over the years has churned out scores of genre features including the Puppetmaster, Subspecies, Trancers and Demonic Toys franchises, among dozens of others) is set to roll next week on the feature Killer Eye 2: Halloween Haunt. Read on for a synopsis, casting news and more!
This past April we had the opportunity to chat with writer/director/producer and all-around entertaining guy Charles Band (
read it here) about his latest project Evil Bong 3D: The Wrath of Bong and how he was taking the film on the road to share with fans in selected cities.
Charles Band sent out an email alerting the world that Full Moon Entertainment is gearing up with three new monster movies featuring damsels in distress: a sequel, a zombie flick, and in what will come as a shock to no one, a new film revolving around a quartet of pint-sized fiends.
There's no doubt that writer/director/producer Charles Band is one of the true pioneers of independent horror. He's written and directed over 30 independent genre films and produced some 244 titles as well, not to mention founding both Empire Pictures in the 80s as well as Full Moon Entertainment.
Charles Band's Evil Bong 3D: The Wrath of Bong has completed photography, and it’s going to be a 3D and Sniff-O-Rama blast! Look for a limited national theatrical release on 4/20/11 - National Pot Day. Don't want to wait that long? If you live in or around Chicago, then you'll want to check out its premiere at the Portage Theater on April 9th with some surprise guests.
Can the world stomach a third Gingerdead Man movie? You better have an appetite for more because the foul-mouthed maniac cookie is back for a third helping, and this time he's time traveling back to the 1970's to dish out some disco death.
After the debacle of
Puppet Master – Axis of Evil (review here), I was asked to list off some of my favorite Full Moon films. I listed Meridian despite having seen it last in 1992, recalling it as both an atmospheric and original romantic horror film. I was thirteen then. Most probably it was the sex and nudity that won me over.
More goodies to get you Puppet Master fans all hot and bothered ... the extended trailer hit online today courtesy of Full Moon Direct, and of course we have it here for your perusal with no strings attached!
