Cannes 2009 has come to an end, and we're happy to report that a few horror offerings won awards, most notably Antichrist's Charlotte Gainsborough, who was dubbed Best Actress at the fest.

First Showing.net is all over Cannes and has given us glimpses of the Croisette, the infamous street which studios and prod cos line with ad material for highly anticipated features, and those still seeking distribution for their films.

Attending guests of the Cannes and Fangoria film festivals will be able to attend sneak peek screenings of Corbin Bernsen's Dead Air over the coming months. Featuring genre star Bill Moseley as well as Patricia Tallman (Lyta, from Babylon 5!), the film describes the fire and chaos following a biological terrorist attack that causes infected citizens to turn on one another in a murderous rage.

The official lineup for the 2009 Cannes Film Festival has been announced, and we were pleased to see more than a few horror/thriller filmmakers mixed in with the likes of Quentin Tarantino, Alejandro Amenabar, Jane Campion, and Ang Lee. Who made the final cut?
