Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever

The story of Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever is a strange one indeed. According to director Ti West Lionsgate seized control of the sequel and recut the film without his approval. West was going for a John Waters feel or Todd Solondz style (which I assume means lots of perverse sex and disgusting bodily fluids), but the studio had other ideas.

Cabin Fever 2 has been threatened for so long, you have to wonder whether or not it actually exists. It seems like we’re getting closer to seeing the long-delayed sequel to the 2002 Eli Roth film, but the question today is whether or not it’s actually worth seeing. If director Ti West is to be believed, it doesn’t sound like it.

It's hard to believe that it's been over a year since last we spoke about Ti West's Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever. I mean, really! In any event the film has finally gotten itself a rating.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard much about Ti West’s Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever, the sequel to Eli Roth’s breakout debut, but such is always the case when post-production is going on hot and heavy, as it were.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, "reports of Rider Strong's death in Cabin Fever have been exaggerated." What that means for fans of the film is that Strong's character Paul will indeed be returning in the sequel, Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever, along with the strangely endearing Deputy Winston (Giuseppe Andrews).

I guess the question of whether a sequel to Eli Roth’s debut film Cabin Fever is or is not necessary is moot since we’re not really the ones to make such calls (yet), so we move on and hope Lionsgate has our best interests in mind when banging out a sequel.
