The first thought that came to mind upon arriving to director Buddy Giovinazzo’s then-shooting supernatural horror flick Ginger on Sunday, December 18 of 2011 was, “This looks like some place Charles Manson would have frequented back in the Sixties.” As I was to find, I was correct in that assumption, and as it turned out, Giovinazzo himself, too, was working hard to add yet another creepy chapter to the location’s storied past alongside Ginger stars Marc Senter and Elissa Dowling.

And the lineup for this year's Sitges Film Festival, which runs 6-16 October on the Catalan coast of Spain, continues to grow. A big batch of "Special Session" short films has been added to the lineup, including seven episodes of the Cinemax "Femme Fatales" TV series directed by a host of popular genre directors such as Richard Hollis, Frank McCloud, Steve Kriozere, Mark A. Altman, Darin Scott, and Buddy Giovinazzo.

When the Fantasia International Film Festival returns to set Montreal ablaze this summer, the fantastic film festival – one of the largest and most influential of its kind in the world – will be celebrating its 15th anniversary with an astonishing three-week showcase of international genre cinema, from July 14th to August 7th, 2011.
On July 19th attendees of this year's Fantasia Film Fest have a chance to view the director’s cut of the 1986 film Combat Shock. This rare screening of the original 16mm answer print will be hosted by writer/director Buddy Giovinazzo. What better way to prepare than by checking out Trembles' take on the film?
In their never-ending quest to put out the finest in obscure entertainment, Troma announced today that they're releasing Buddy Giovinazzo's Combat Shock as a two-disc never-before-seen director's cut on July 28th, 2009.
