Blumhouse’s Halloween picked up 40 years after Laurie Strode survived a vicious attack from masked madman Michael Myers on Halloween night. Locked up in an institution, Myers manages to escape and now Laurie faces a terrifying showdown when the crazed killer returns to Haddonfield – but this time, she’s ready.

Rated R for bloody images, horror violence, language, brief drug use, and nudity, the film sports a 79% on Rotten Tomatoes with this Critics Consensus: Halloween largely wipes the slate clean after decades of disappointing sequels, ignoring increasingly elaborate mythology in favor of basic – yet still effective – ingredients.

Halloween Kills was originally set to hit this Halloween but was delayed a full year by Universal for obvious reasons. It will now be unleashed on October 15, 2021.

Halloween Ends follows on October 14, 2022.

Director David Gordon Green and franchise co-creator John Carpenter confirmed that Blumhouse’s next entry in the rebooted series, Halloween Kills be optimized for IMAX. Are you excited?
